University of Victoria Land Acknowledgement
We acknowledge and respect the Lək̓ʷəŋən (Songhees and Xʷsepsəm/Esquimalt) Peoples on whose territory the university stands, and the Lək̓ʷəŋən and W̱SÁNEĆ Peoples whose historical relationships with the land continue to this day.
Kati Dreilich’s Land Acknowledgement
I would like to acknowledge the traditional territories of the Coast Salish, specifically Esquimalt Nation and Songhees Nation on which I live and work. I would also like to recognize the nations School District 62 works with: Beecher Bay, Sc’ianew Nation, T’Sou-ke Nation, and Nuu-chah-nulth Pacheedaht Nation to the west. I recognize the territory and nation; I thank them for sharing this beautiful land.
